Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls: Best Friends and Drama Queens by Meg Cabot
Allie thinks it’s so great when Cheyenne joins her class- now she won’t be the new girl any more!
But Cheyenne thinks she’s sooo grown-up and that Allie and her friends are ‘big babies’.
Allie must go head-to-head in a sleepover battle and stand up to the bossy new girl, using some tough Rules for girls…
A bit about the author
Author of ‘The Princess Diaries’ Meg Cabot writes funny and helpful stories for younger children about a girl called Allie Finkle.
What is Allie Finkle Rules for Girls: Best Friends and Drama Queens all about?
This is a book about bullying and how you can stand up to it with a little help from your friends.
When a girl from Canada, called Cheyenne, moves into Allie’s class, she quickly becomes popular because she acts so grown up. Allie and her friends prefer to be kids and that means trouble because Cheyenne thinks they’re ‘immature’! How will Allie and her friends stand up to her?
My favourite bit of the story is when Allie’s friends make up with each other to help Allie stand up to Cheyenne.
Was there anything I didn’t like about it?
Who would I recommend this book to?
I think girls would love it but boys probably not so much.
Other books I want to read by this author:
- The Princess Diaries series but my human’s mum says she’s not old enough to read it yet.
- Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls: The new girl
- Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls: Fifth grade’s not for babies
A note from my human’s grown ups:
Allie Finkle is age 9 and so the subject matter should be good for primary school girls from about aged 8. We found some of the topics in this book useful for discussion with our daughter.
