A Cat Called Penguin by Holly Webb

The blurb says:

Everyone thinks Penguin is a silly name for a cat, but Alfie thinks it’s perfect. To Alfie, he’s the best cat in the world. Penguin loves to play in the overgrown garden next door. But when a new girl moves in and reclaims it, Alfie worries she might think Penguin belongs to her too! A delightful story about friendship and learning to share.

A bit about the author

This story is one of Holly Webb’s many stories about animals, it will be loved by young readers.

What is A Cat Called Penguin all about?

It’s about sharing someone very close to you and making new friends. It’s a nice story and there’s only one scary bit really, when Penguin goes missing. He is overweight and, I must say, rather lazy, but he is very friendly. Maybe a bit too friendly…

What was my favourite bit of the story?

My favourite part of the story is when Grace (the new girl) rescues Penguin from somebody’s garden shed. This helps Grace and Alfie become friends.

Who would I recommend this book to?

I would recommend this book to boys and girls, I think both would love it.

Other books I have read by this author:

  •  Just in time for Christmas (part of Winter Wishes)

  • Rose and the Magician’s Mask
